Updated September 2015 - Until September 2017 there will be various restrictions in place on the M1 between junctions 28 and 35a to allow for the construction of the Smart Motorway. These include lane closures, speed restrictions, hard shoulder running and overnight slip road or carriageway closures.
If you are travelling to the Arena via the M1 motorway, please allow extra time for your journey.
Roadworks on the northbound section between junctions J32 and J33 and northbound & southbound sections between J34 & J35 are expected to cause delays.
The M1 northbound and southbound entry slips at junction J34 will be closed from 8pm until 6am daily. Customers are advised to follow the diversions or plan an alternative route between these times.
For more information click here.
Nearly 1,000 on-site car parking spaces are available in Car Parks A & B with an additional parking facility at Car Park C within a 1 minute walk from the venue for 200 cars. For event day parking charges click here , for non-event day parking charges click here.
Once you have purchased your car park ticket, on the day of the event you can usually access the Arena car park from 3pm & leave at any time unless otherwise stated on your ticket - given the recent change in security procedures no access will be allowed to the venue car park until 3pm.
On arrival you will be directed by the car-park attendant to the next available parking space - please follow their direction. When a show has more than one performance a day then a parking ticket will state a time that you can access the car park from and a time that you must leave the car park by. This is to ensure that customers attending the earlier or later show performances are able to access the Arena car park. Please note the ticket is valid for one admission only and will not allow re-admittance once you leave the car park.
The car park ticket is only valid between the times printed on the ticket & you must adhere to the times stated – penalty charges displayed throughout the car park will be enforced on all cars parking outside these times.
There will be no access to the venue car parks without a valid car parking ticket or parking permit and anyone arranging to drop-off, meet or pick-up someone from an event at the venue must do so away from the Arena and the car parks. We understand this can be inconvenient but is a necessary measure for the security of everyone coming to the venue. If any member of your party has mobility issues you must email us in advance to make alternative arrangements - contact [email protected].
Please ensure that your car park ticket (whether pre-paid or purchased on the day from the car park attendant) is clearly displayed when you leave your vehicle in the Arena car park. Our car park is checked by an external car park management company and failure to clearly display your ticket will result in a parking fine.

Car park D is locked 45 minutes after the end of the show.
There is no charge if you chose to bring a bike or motorcycle to a show & park in the Arena car park. There is a limited number of metal railings to attach your bike to but there is no shelter or locker facility.
To guarantee on-site parking at the Arena we strongly recommend you purchase your parking ticket at the same time as you book your event tickets, in advance, either here online through this web site, in person at the Box Office or by phone on 0114 256 56 56. For all shows Car Parks A&B will be available to purchase in advance, with Car Park C only opened when there is demand and then on most shows this will only be on the day of the show and Car Park D cannot be pre-sold because the surface is grass and dependent upon the weather conditions. Advanced purchased car park tickets will be posted to you before the show, will be significantly cheaper than those purchased on the day and guarantee on site hassle free reserved parking.
Parking tickets may be purchased on the day from either the box office at Entrance C or from the car park attendant as you enter the car park (if the parking has not already sold-out in advance).

The car park ticket is only valid on the day and between the times printed on the ticket.
You must adhere to the times stated – penalty charges displayed throughout the car park will be enforced on all cars parking outside these times.
